1. Publisher

The ManipulateMe app (the "Service") is published by Clément Eiserloh, entrepreneur individuel registered with the French national business registry (Registre national des entreprises). 2. Purpose and acceptance

These terms govern use of the Service and purchases made within the app. By using the Service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

3. Description of the Service

ManipulateMe is a persuasion training game. Each challenge sets up a fictional situation with a character who wants something without saying so. The player talks to them freely, within a limited number of turns, to find what moves them. A debrief, a library of theory cards, and an analysis of your playing style round out the challenges.

Characters and the scoring of rounds are generated by artificial intelligence, based on the messages you write. Their responses are produced automatically: they can be unpredictable or imperfect.

Requirements: an iPhone running iOS 15.1 or later, and an active internet connection during challenges. The guided tour and the theory content stay readable offline once the app is installed.

4. Access and age

The Service requires no account. On first launch, the app generates an anonymous identifier specific to your device, used to link your rounds and your purchase. The first name entered at onboarding stays on your phone.

The Service is intended for people aged 15 or older. Below that age, its use requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

5. Price and purchases (terms of sale)

The guided tour and the first theory section are free. The Premium offer unlocks every challenge and all the theory content. It is a one-time purchase, valid for life on the App Store account that made it: there is no subscription and no advertising.

Each challenge can be played a maximum of five times. This limit is part of the game and also applies with Premium.

The price is shown in euros, all taxes included, in the app before any payment. Purchases are processed by the App Store (Apple), under its own terms. Billing, payment, and any refunds are handled by Apple. A purchase can be recovered on a new device through "Restore purchases."

Right of withdrawal. Premium is digital content delivered immediately after purchase. By confirming the purchase, you request its immediate performance and expressly waive your 14-day right of withdrawal, in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. A refund request may still be possible under Apple's own policy.

Legal guarantee. As a consumer, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity that applies to digital content and services under French law (Articles L224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code).

6. Your messages

The messages you write during challenges are sent to the artificial intelligence provider that powers the characters' responses, and are kept with the round to show your debrief and your history. You grant the publisher a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license solely to process and store these messages in order to provide the Service.

These messages are never shown to other players. Since the game's situations are fictional, do not enter real personal information in them, whether about yourself or anyone else.

7. Prohibited uses

You may not use the Service to: write unlawful, hateful, violent, or sexual content; attempt to bypass its technical limits (in particular the per-challenge attempt limit); attempt to extract or hijack the instructions given to the artificial intelligence; automate its use; disrupt its operation or access it without authorization. The publisher may suspend a device's access in the event of a serious or repeated breach.

8. Data

The data processed, its purposes, its recipients, and its retention periods are described in the privacy policy, accessible from Settings.

The text of your conversations is automatically erased from our servers 12 months after the round. Only the number of attempts per challenge, the outcome of your rounds, and your purchase remain, none of which contain any message.

You can request the erasure of your conversations at any time by writing to the contact address, along with the identifier shown at the bottom of Settings. Deleting the app erases the data stored on your phone.

If the Service is permanently discontinued, users will be notified at least 30 days in advance.

9. Intellectual property

The app, the ManipulateMe brand, logos, interface, scenarios, characters, illustrations, and theory content are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of the publisher. Any use outside the Service is prohibited without prior written consent.

10. Nature of the content and liability

The Service is a game with an educational purpose. Its situations and characters are fictional. The theory cards present influence mechanisms so you can learn to recognize and protect yourself from them: they are not psychological, medical, or legal advice, nor an invitation to manipulate anyone.

The publisher uses reasonable means to keep the Service accessible, without being able to guarantee continuous availability. Challenges depend on technical providers and an internet connection. The Service may change, be suspended for maintenance, or be interrupted.

The publisher cannot be held liable for responses automatically generated by artificial intelligence, or for any use of the Service contrary to these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits the publisher's liability where the law does not permit it.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change, in particular to follow changes to the Service or to the law. In the event of a material change, users are informed within the app before it takes effect. The applicable version is the one in force at the time of use.

12. Governing law and mediation

These terms are governed by French law. This English version is provided for convenience only; the French version is the one that governs and prevails in the event of any discrepancy. In the event of a dispute, you may freely contact the following consumer mediator: CM2C (Centre de la médiation de la consommation de conciliateurs de justice), 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, https://www.cm2c.net, after first contacting the publisher. Failing an agreement, the competent French courts will have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any protective rules applicable to consumers.
